Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the WatchTogether platform available at watchtogether.watch (the "Service"). By creating an account, accessing, or using any part of the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and Account Registration

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account and to keep that information up to date. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

2. License to Use the Service

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, sell, or sublicense the Service or any part of it.

You agree not to use the Service to:

4. User Content and Streaming Responsibility

You are solely responsible for any content you stream, share, or transmit through the Service. We do not host, encode, or store the content of your screen shares — streams are peer-to-peer. You represent that you have the rights, licenses, and permissions necessary to share any content you broadcast through the Service.

Sharing content you do not own or have permission to share may infringe copyright, trademark, or other rights. You are responsible for complying with the terms of streaming services you display through screen sharing.

5. Intellectual Property

WatchTogether, including its software, design, logo, and content, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in our trademarks or branding.

6. DMCA / Copyright Notices

We respect intellectual property rights and respond to valid takedown notices. If you believe content shared through the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice including: identification of the work, the infringing material, your contact details, a good-faith statement, a statement of accuracy, and your physical or electronic signature, to legal@watchtogether.watch. We may terminate accounts of repeat infringers.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, harm other users, or for any other lawful reason. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, indemnity, liability limits, dispute resolution) will survive.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will WatchTogether or its operators be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for direct damages is limited to GBP 100. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WatchTogether against any claims, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your breach of these Terms.

11. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced via the Service or by email. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where prohibited by mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence.
